About the Role
We are hiring a Buyer to join a rapidly growing advanced manufacturing company in Valdosta, GA. This organization is focused on developing innovative, high-performance systems for defense, public safety, and government applications.
This role reports to the Materials Manager and will support purchasing operations, supplier coordination, and material readiness across both production and prototype builds.

πΉ Key Responsibilities
- Place and manage purchase orders for materials, components, and services
- Review purchase requisitions and convert PRs into POs
- Track open orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery
- Communicate with vendors regarding updates, ASNs, certifications, and expedites
- Evaluate supplier quotes, lead times, and sourcing options
- Support supplier performance tracking (OTIF, scorecards)
- Assist with cost updates, negotiations, and sourcing strategies
- Partner with engineering, planning, and finance to support production timelines
- Coordinate with warehouse/receiving to resolve discrepancies
- Support material readiness reviews for builds
- Maintain procurement documentation in line with quality and audit standards
- Assist with supplier communication for quality issues (DMR/RTV)
πΉ Required Qualifications
- 3β5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain
- Experience supporting a manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with internal teams and external suppliers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Exposure to forecasting or demand planning processes

- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, NetSuite, D365, etc.)
- Familiarity with PLM tools (Arena or similar)
- Experience contributing to SOPs or process documentation
- Exposure to supplier performance tracking or sourcing strategy
- Interest in growing into supplier management or strategic procurement
