Senior Accountant (6038)

NextPath Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our client’s team in Concord, North Carolina. This is a Hybrid, Direct Hire position.

SALARY: $75,000-$85,000 (depending on experience)

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and public accounting experience; candidates without public accounting experience must hold an active CPA license and demonstrate a proactive, self-driven approach to learning and problem-solving.
• Ability to take full ownership of the accounting function, including establishing processes, implementing structure and controls, and transitioning from a cash-basis environment.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and technology skills, including the ability to analyze data and improve accounting processes; experience using AI for automation or data analysis is a plus.
• Ability to independently research accounting issues, evaluate solutions, and resolve complex problems with limited oversight.
• Hands-on, team-oriented approach with the ability to manage both high-level accounting responsibilities and day-to-day transactional work.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accounting accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
• Manage the month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Coordinate sales and use tax compliance, reconcile tax accounts, and support complex tax requirements.
• Investigate discrepancies and unusual financial activity while improving accounting processes and internal controls.
• Review transactional accounting, provide guidance to accounting support staff, and collaborate with the corporate finance team on budgeting, audits, tax compliance, and year-end reporting.
