Requirements
- Experienced managing all phases of construction (pre-design through close-out). Familiar with general contractor and subcontractor operations, and skilled in reviewing schedules, progress, and compliance with plans and specifications
- Strong background performing site inspections, reviewing workmanship, and ensuring adherence to contract documents, safety standards, and project quality requirements.
- Understanding of federal construction protocols, documentation, and reporting standards (VA, DoD, or GSA project experience preferred). Comfortable navigating compliance, security clearances, and PIV requirements
- Excellent liaison between contractors, engineers, and government stakeholders. Clear written and verbal communication skills for producing reports, resolving issues, and maintaining project momentum.
- Skilled at interpreting drawings, specifications, schedules, and submittals. Proficient with construction management and documentation software such as Procore, MS Project, and Bluebeam.
- Oversee and administer construction, design/build, engineering, and facilities management activities for assigned federal projects.
- Support all project phases — including pre-design, design, procurement, construction, and close-out — ensuring compliance with contract requirements.
- Perform quality assurance inspections and monitor contractors’ performance for adherence to specifications, safety, and schedule.
- Review design documents, drawings, and submittals to identify inconsistencies or deficiencies and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Manage and maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and communication logs in accordance with federal standards
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with contractors, architects, engineers, and VA stakeholders to resolve field issues and maintain project momentum.
- Evaluate project progress, track timelines, and support schedule and cost management activities.
- Conduct risk assessments and determine potential project impacts on medical center operations or patient care.
- Provide administrative and technical oversight for all construction disciplines, ensuring proper documentation of changes, approvals, and quality reviews.
- Support claims evaluation, safety management, and compliance reporting as part of overall construction management services.
