Position Title: 5G SA RF Optimization Consultant

Travel Requirement: Monthly travel to customer regional offices

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced RF Optimization Consultant with a strong background in 5G Standalone (SA) networks to provide hands-on consulting, performance analysis, optimization, and knowledge transfer. This role will interface directly with the customer, leading efforts to improve network performance. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in RF engineering, troubleshooting, and parameter optimization, and will serve as a technical subject matter expert (SME) on 5G SA optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Engagement & Consulting

• Interface directly with customers to provide expert consulting on 5G SA optimization including RF shaping, parameters, drive data analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Develop and document best practices, KPI definitions, Golden Parameters, and optimization workflows specific to Samsung vRAN products.
• Lead in-depth technical discussions with customers and stakeholders.
• Deliver training workshops on RF optimization methodologies and tools.

RF Optimization & Performance Analysis

• Execute and interpret drive test data for network optimization and benchmarking.
• Identify and resolve performance issues using coverage prediction tools, OMs, and live network data.
• Perform neighbor relation analysis, load balancing, and parameter optimization.
• Update and maintain CIQ, RFDS, and other technical documentation.
• Recommend and implement parameter changes to achieve target KPIs across multiple frequency bands and VoNR.

Project Management & Reporting

• Coordinate and provide direction to RF contractors and drive test teams.
• Define and document drive routes for benchmarking and optimization efforts.
• Create and deliver reports, status updates, forecasts, and technical analysis.
• Work with engineering, deployment, and operations teams to ensure successful integration and optimization of sites.
• Submit and track documentation for parameter changes and RF shaping activities.

Collaboration & Communication

• Communicate effectively with internal teams, customer contacts, and HQ to ensure deployment meets performance expectations.
• Present technical concepts and results in a clear, logical manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with network engineering teams on antenna configurations, database parameters, and design updates.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5 years of hands-on experience in RF optimization, preferably in 5G SA networks.
• Strong working knowledge of Samsung vRAN products and tools.
• Deep understanding of 5G RF parameters, KPI metrics, VoNR, and benchmarking techniques.
• Proven experience with drive test analysis tools (e.g., TEMS, Actix, Nemo).
• Ability to define and execute RF optimization strategies using real-world data and simulations.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with Samsung, Ericsson, or Nokia RAN equipment.
• Hands-on experience with CIQ, Atoll, Planet, and RFDS documentation.
• Experience conducting technical training or workshops.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
