An Investment Management Firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join their team as an Assistant Controller.
Responsibilities:
- Report to the Controller and CFO, designing and executing strategies to improve accounting processes and ensure the team has the systems, technology, and resources needed for operational excellence.
- Assist in reviewing and validating daily fund P&L reports, identifying discrepancies and supporting process enhancements for improved accuracy and timeliness.
- Handle regulatory filings, including Form 13F, Form PF, and CPO-PQR.
- Collaborate with the Administrator and assist in reviewing monthly NAV calculations and investor allocations.
- Demonstrate deep understanding of capital allocations, including incentive allocations and the application of hurdle rates across share classes.
- Prepare and analyze weekly performance estimates, ensuring alignment with internal records.
- Manage the annual fund financial statement audit process.
- Apply familiarity with marketing-related calculations such as attribution, correlation, and other key metrics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required.
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, ideally from a hedge fund, private equity firm, or bank.
- Mix of public and private accounting experience preferred; CPA is a plus.
- Experienced in month-end valuation, managing the year-end audit process, NAV reconciliation, regulatory filings, and investor allocations.
- Familiar with a broad range of investment products, including fixed income securities, equity derivatives, and asset-backed securities.
- Strong Excel skills (macros, advanced formulas, pivot tables) and proficiency with MS Office; knowledge of Python or other programming languages, Power BI, Power Automate, and generative AI tools is a plus.
- Experienced in documenting processes (e.g., Confluence) and improving workflows.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and team-oriented with a strong work ethic.
Salary : $150,000 - $175,000
