**The Opportunity**
The TAK Systems Engineer is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with the Tactical Awareness Kits software product line in the TAK Product Center at TAK.gov. This position includes the design, development, implementation and support of an enterprise TAK environment for multiple different customers. Responsible for requirements definition, systems planning and design, performance management, capacity planning, testing and validation, benchmarking, and information engineering of the TAK environment. Interfaces with external entities running TAK to implement TAK Federations and other data exchanges. Interfaces with TAK end-users to capture operational requirements and implement new capabilities in the TAK environment to satisfy operational requirements. Works with third-party vendors to evaluate and implement TAK plug-ins. Evaluates and troubleshoots TAK systems and ensures efficient delivery of systems contract capabilities. Mitigates risks, controls costs and schedule variance, and effectively manages large scale, integrated projects.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Design, installation, implementation and support of TAK enterprise environment to include system server components and FedHub servers
- Installation and support of TAK client software to include WinTAK, ATAK and ITAK
- Installation and support of mobile end user devices running ATAK/ITAK (Samsung SE25, iPhone) and TAK plug-ins
- Implementation and support of Federations to exchange data with external entities
- Implementation and support of real-time CoT data feeds into the TAK environment
- Integration of video management and distribution within the TAK environment
- Hardening of TAK environment according to Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to support the security accreditation process
- Supports TAK Mission Packages, Data Sync and Plug-ins
- Conduct technical TAK training and product briefings with customers and end-users as required
- Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve the TAK environment for supporting mission requirements
- Creates and maintains as-built system specifications and other systems drawings
- Interprets and implements security baseline configurations for all system components in support of the security accreditation process
- Troubleshoots technical issues, and develops and implements solutions
- Identifies system integrity issues and solutions for the full system life cycle
- Supports operational and maintenance phase for as-built systems
- Participates in special projects as required
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with the US Government.
- Bachelors degree in computer science or engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, certifications and work experience.
- 5-7 years of hands-on experience with the design, implementation and support of a TAK enterprise environment to include TAK Product server and client software, Federation Server, Plug-ins, Data Sync and Mission packages
- 5-7 years of experience in systems engineering including network analysis, design, and installation
- 3-5 years of experience with CentOS/Red Hat operating system software and virtualization software (i.e. VMware)
- Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to effectively provide technical training to customers
- Strong problem solving, analytic, and communication skills
- Capable of lifting and moving information technology equipment up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work well under pressure and time constraints, in a small team environment
- Self-starter with ability to accomplish tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision
- Ability to work occasional evenings nd/or weekends as job duties demand
- SME experience as a TAK Server System Engineer, TAK client software and Federation Hub server
- Windows Server and Linux (CentOS/RedHat) operating systems
- Virtualization technologies such as VMware (version 6.5 and above)
- Software-defined networking
- Security and VPN solutions
- Active Directory/LDAP, Certificates and Multifactor Authentication
- Software monitoring tools
- Securing systems according to Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
- Familiarity with the security accreditation process
- Enterprise applications including Remote Desktop and Visio
