Network Engineer IV

**The Opportunity**

NTS is seeking a Level 4 Network Engineer who will provide expert technical support to a government sponsored program, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and security measures to ensure optimal performance and adherence to DoW standards. Key responsibilities will include incident management, system documentation, and training for personnel, while collaborating with other teams to integrate a small-form-factor (SFF) compute and network capability to the DoW. The role is full-time, requires a Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility, and involves 20% travel to various CONUS Air Force bases for on-site support.

**Key Responsibilities (Principal Duties and Accountabilities *Essential Functions)**

• Technical Support:Provide technical support for the program, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving issues related to the SFF kits and Secure Entry Point.
• Maintenance and Upgrades:Perform routine maintenance, updates, and configuration changes to the programs components to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Incident Management:Respond to and resolve incidents and outages affecting the program, working closely with other teams to minimize downtime and restore service.
• Security:Implement and maintain security measures to protect the program and its sensitive data, adhering to Air Force security policies and standards.
• Documentation:Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including system documentation, troubleshooting guides, and operational procedures.
• Training:Provide training and guidance on the SFF kits to end-users and support staff.
• Collaboration:Collaborate with other engineers, network administrators, and security personnel to ensure seamless integration and operation of the program within the broader Air Force network.
  
  

**Requirements**

• Fluency in English (written and spoken)
• Must be a United States citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance
• The position requires 20% travel to various CONUS Air Force bases for on-site support and maintenance annually.
  
  

**Education**

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
• CCNA required, CCNP/CISSP or equivalent/higher preferred. Security required within 6 months of hire (CISSP would negate Sec requirement)
  
  

**Required Skills, Experience and Abilities**

• 8 years of hands on network engineering or network support experience working with enterprise grade routing and switching platforms (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Arista, HPE).
• Working knowledge of VPN technologies and experience administering firewall policies across multiple security platforms (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper).
• Experience with scripting or automation for network configuration management (e.g. Python, Ansible, PowerShell, or similar).
• Familiarity with general project management methodologies and tools used to track tasks, changes, and deliverables.
• Experience configuring and supporting enterprise routing platforms (e.g., Juniper, Cisco, Arista) in production environments.
• Ability to produce clear, accurate process documentation on schedule, with revisions incorporated within two review cycles.
• Ability to configure basic cloud networking components (e.g., AWS VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups) with changes passing peer review with minimal corrections.

**Physical Demands and Work Environment**

• The position requires at least five (5) travel visits to various CONUS Air Force bases for on-site support and maintenance annually.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to lift, up to 40 pounds on occasion (e.g., transporting laptop, presentation materials, or small equipment).
• Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.
• Clear vision and hearing required for meetings, presentations, and communication.

**Summary**

• Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5 p.m.
• Required to travel to 5 CONUS based Air Force Bases per year for 3 days to provide training.
• Hybrid work arrangements may be supported as determined by PM requirements.
