You will perform routine visual and mechanical inspections to ensure components meet quality standards and aerospace requirements. You will work onsite with the QA team, support auditors and internal audits, and contribute to first article inspections and corrective actions. Your work ensures product conformity for aviation, space, and defense programs.
Here’s How You’ll Make an Impact on the Team
- Perform routine visual inspection of soldered connections and mechanical inspections of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
- Inspect wires and sensors (force, pressure, etc.) using ring gauges, calipers, torque ranges, micrometers, and other tools.
- Prepare documentation reporting acceptance/rejection of inspected/tested items and maintain technical quality assurance procedures.
- Support and participate in internal audits and corrective action follow-ups; engage with auditors to support AS9100/ISO compliance activities.
- Implement and apply inspector processes, follow detailed job instructions, and resolve routine quality issues.
- May work variable schedules, including nights and weekends, and perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Here’s What You’ll Need to Be Successful in This Role
- 1–2 years of relevant inspection or quality experience.
- Experience with gauges, calipers, torque ranges, filler gauges, lead partition gauges, micrometers, and measuring/test equipment.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and aerospace standards such as AS9100; experience doing first article inspections (FAI) per Aerospace Standards.
- Ability to follow detailed job instructions and apply systematic quality assurance approaches to resolve standard problems.
- Experience reading blueprints, drawings, and parts lists.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Effective oral and written communication.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training, apprenticeships, or equivalent experience in related field.
Here’s What Else Might Help You Out
- Experience with a wider range of inspection tools: height gauges, pin and block gauges, V-blocks, surface inspection tables, comparators.
- Experience creating First Article Inspection Reports in compliance with AS9102 and customer-specific requirements.
- Experience performing internal audits and recording results.
- Familiarity with interpreting engineering drawings using GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Pay Range
$13.78 - $16.92/hour
