Job Overview


We are looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of IT infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will manage multiple projects, including network upgrades, data center migrations, LAN/WLAN infrastructure installations, service and incident request(s) and workforce coordination. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, project management skills, technician level installation aptitudes and an ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organization.


Key Responsibilities


  • Project Planning and Execution: Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders; manage project schedules, budgets, and resources.
  • Senior Level Technician Proficiencies: Provide hands-on installation support as needed to ensure project/assignment completion and maintain the contract’s operations and maintenance requirements.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a point of contact for project stakeholders, keeping them informed of progress, risks, and changes to project plans.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks, create mitigation plans, and proactively address issues to keep projects on track.
  • Resource Allocation: Coordinate with cross-functional teams to allocate resources effectively, including IT, security, vendors, and contractors.
  • Budget and Financial Management: Oversee project budgets, track expenses, and ensure projects remain within budget.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all infrastructure projects meet quality standards and performance criteria.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular status updates, reports, and post-project assessments.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure all projects adhere to IT governance, compliance standards, and security protocols.

Qualifications


Experience:

  • 5 years of project management experience within IT infrastructure, including project surveying and estimating, LAN/WLAN topology design, data center infrastructure integrations, fiber optic systems, and industry standard testing protocols.
  • Proven track record of delivering IT infrastructure projects on time and within budget.

Preferred Education:

  • BICSI Technician (TECH) Certification or relevant job experience
  • BICSI Telecommunications Project Manager Certification (TPM) or relevant job experience
  • Project Manager professional Certification (PMP) or relevant job experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field or relevant job experience

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components including structural support systems, horizontal and backbone cable media, termination interface components and Telecommunications manufacturer products.
  • Familiarity with project management software such as Microsoft Project, Procor, Jira, or Asana.
  • Knowledge of industry standard testing equipment (Fluke Networks)
  • Knowledge of industry standard optical transmission products and equipment (Corning Cable Systems, Fusion/Mechanical Splicing, and OTDRs) .

  • Excellent communication and abilities to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
  • Ability to instruct and mentor junior level technicians.
