Role Description
The Low Voltage OSP Project Manager will oversee and coordinate all aspects of low-voltage Outside Plant (OSP) projects to ensure timely and efficient execution. Responsibilities include managing project timelines, inspecting project sites, coordinating resources, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The Project Manager will collaborate with teams to oversee logistics and expedite project tasks. This is a full-time on-site role located in Fredericksburg, VA. Starting salary is $70-$80k based on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end project lifecycle for OSP low voltage installations (fiber optic, copper, conduit, structured cabling, etc.)
- Supervise field technicians, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure quality and timely completion
- Conduct site surveys, pre-construction meetings, and risk assessments
- Create and maintain project schedules, change orders, documentation, and reports
- Coordinate permitting, utility locates, and municipal inspections
- Track project costs, materials, and labor hours to maintain profitability
- Ensure adherence to industry standards (NEC, BICSI, TIA/EIA) and company safety protocols
- Serve as point of contact between clients, internal teams, and stakeholders
- Assist with estimating, bidding, and proposal development as needed
Qualifications and Requirements
- 5 years of experience in OSP construction or low voltage project management
- Strong knowledge of outside plant systems: fiber optics, aerial and underground cabling, splicing, etc.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, construction drawings, and GIS maps
- Skilled in project scheduling tools (MS Project, Excel, or similar)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally/regionally as needed
- BICSI OSP Certification (preferred but not required)
- PMP Certification (a plus)
