Responsibilities
- Recruit, screen, and onboard volunteers through outreach efforts including campus recruitment and community events
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs to prepare volunteers for hospice care responsibilities
- Supervise and support volunteers, providing ongoing coaching, recognition, and development opportunities
- Coordinate volunteer schedules to meet patient needs while maintaining flexibility for volunteers’ availability
- Manage volunteer records using systems such as Salesforce or Raiser's Edge to track hours, activities, and feedback
- Facilitate effective communication between volunteers, staff, patients, and families through public speaking and social media management
- Lead volunteer meetings and training sessions to promote engagement, teamwork, and continuous improvement in service delivery
Experience
- Proven experience in volunteer management or social work within healthcare or community settings
- Strong leadership skills with prior supervisory or team management experience
- Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce or Raiser's Edge for recordkeeping and reporting
- Excellent public speaking abilities to conduct training sessions and community outreach events
- Background in campus recruitment, social media management, or public relations is highly desirable
- Demonstrated skills in recruiting, onboarding, and developing volunteers or staff members
- Experience with social work practices related to hospice or end-of-life care is a plus
