What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Client Support Specialist – CDT (Bilingual English/Spanish) position at Next Dental Lab?
Next Dental Lab is a high-volume dental laboratory serving dental practices across all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Canada, and the Caribbean. We're looking for a Certified Dental Technician (CDT) to join our in-house team in Deerfield Beach as the technical voice between our doctors and our production floor.
This is not a customer service role with a dental label on it. We need a technician who knows the work from the bench up: someone who can hear "the margin on #19 came in short," "the bite on this all-on-4 is off," or "we need this back before a 3 PM seat" and immediately know the cause, the fix, and who needs to act on it.
About the role
We run on our own proprietary lab platform: case intake, production tracking, doctor portal, and billing all live in software we built and continue to build. We're actively layering in automation and AI-assisted workflows, and your lab expertise will directly shape how those tools handle real cases. If you like getting faster at your job every quarter, you'll do well here. If you want a script that never changes, this isn't the fit.
What you'll do
- Serve as the technical point of contact for doctors and their teams by phone, email, and chat
- Answer case-specific questions on design, materials, shade, fit, occlusion, contacts, and margins across crowns, bridges, dentures, implants, clear aligners, and all-on-X
- Review scans, designs, and case submissions to catch problems before they reach production
- Diagnose remakes and adjustments, identify root cause, and route them to the right technician, designer, or department with clear technical direction
- Step in on design reviews and CAD/CAM questions when needed
- Manage cases end-to-end in our platform: intake, notes, documentation, follow-through
- Work directly with production, CAD/design, and logistics to hit seat dates
- Proactively flag at-risk cases before the practice has to call us
- Help us pressure-test and improve new features and workflows from a technician's perspective
- Communicate fluidly in English and Spanish across our doctor base
What you need (required)
- Current CDT certification
- 3–5 years of hands-on dental laboratory experience
- Working knowledge of fabrication, adjusting, and finishing across fixed, removable, and implant restorations, including crowns, bridges, dentures, implant-supported cases, clear aligners, and all-on-X
- Fluency in English and Spanish, written and spoken
- Comfort working in software all day, and genuine interest in tools that make the work faster
- Strong judgment under pressure: the ability to own a problem, not just log it
- Reliability, punctuality, and the willingness to work on-site as part of a team
Strongly preferred
- Design experience in exocad, 3Shape, Dental Wings, or similar
- CAD/CAM workflow experience, including milling and 3D printing
- Experience working with intraoral scanner files (iTero, TRIOS, Medit, Primescan, etc.) and digital case submission
- Experience with implant components, custom abutments, and full-arch hybrid workflows
- Background in QC, case review, or technical support at a lab
- Prior experience implementing or adopting new software at a lab
Schedule and location
On-site, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, in our modern, newly built office in Deerfield Beach, FL. This role is not remote.
What we offer
- $25–$35 per hour, based on experience
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Paid time off
- A seat at a company building its own technology, with real input into how the tools work
- A path off the bench that puts your technical knowledge to work at a higher level
- Genuine growth opportunity as we expand
- A supportive, fast-moving team that doesn't do bureaucracy
How to apply
Submit your resume. In a sentence or two, tell us your CDT certification details, which restoration types you've worked on most, and what design or CAD/CAM software you've used. Applications without CDT certification will not be considered.
