Position Summary
Provide upgrades and implement new System technology as necessary. Implement, maintain, support, develop, and design servers within the organization. Prepare for disaster recovery. Ensure high availability and continually improve operational processes. May supervise computer administrators and/or user support specialists.
Responsibilities
- Maintain Linux Platforms: RedHat and Oracle Linux.
- Lifecycle Management: Manage Linux patching, upgrades, migration, virtualization, and Tier 3 support.
- System Monitoring: Monitor, maintain, configure, and upgrade MIS, MOS, and NES systems.
- Development: Support development in Datacenters and FAB/CUB.
- Strategy: Project management, planning, Disaster Recovery (DR), new system designs, and implementation.
Scopes
- Server and application maintenance for MIS, MOS, and NES.
- Managing and operating Samsung Austin Semiconductor Datacenters (Austin and Taylor locations).
- Monitoring system activities and asset management.
- On-call/Availability: 24/7/365 readiness to support FAB production lines and Facility systems.
Skill Set & Qualifications
Technical Requirements
- Linux Platforms: High hands-on experience with RedHat, Oracle Linux, CentOS, Rocky, etc.
- Virtualization: Proven experience (VMware VCF preferred).
- Storage Solutions: NetApp and EMC products.
- Volume Management: LUN management, provisioning iSCSI and FC LUN, disk pool, and staging.
- Protocols: CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, FC, and NDMP management.
- Architecture: Ability to architect Linux open-source application deployments.
- Troubleshooting: General Linux system log analysis.
- Scripting: Heavy hands-on experience with Bash, Korn Shell, Perl, and Python.
- Containers (High Plus): Hands-on Kubernetes and Docker experience.
Education & Experience
- Degree: Associate Degree or higher (College Degree preferred).
- Experience: 3 years as a Linux Systems Engineer.
- Certifications: Equivalent experience and certifications are valued.
Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
