Senior Structural Designer | Ogden, UT

Nexeo HR Staffing is hiring a Senior Structural Designer for a direct-hire, full-time, onsite role in Ogden, Utah. This position supports the design of large-scale, mission-critical facilities and focuses on complex structural systems including reinforced concrete and steel structures within highly regulated environments. This role is ideal for an experienced facilities designer with a strong technical background in infrastructure such as data centers, industrial plants, hospitals, energy, or other large commercial facilities. Equipment-level or production-line-only experience is not a fit. This opportunity offers long-term stability, high technical standards, and the chance to contribute to nationally significant infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Produce structural design drawings and documentation for reinforced concrete, structural steel, cold-formed steel, anchor bolts, and detailed connections

• Develop structural designs compliant with applicable building codes, regulations, and industry standards

• Perform seismic detailing and evaluate existing site conditions and as-built drawings

• Coordinate with engineers, designers, project teams, and external stakeholders to ensure integrated facility designs

• Review, interpret, and apply redlines, design comments, and technical feedback

• Support quantity take-offs, cost estimates, proposals, forecasts, and change orders

• Communicate complex technical issues clearly and recommend effective design solutions

• Mentor junior designers and support technical skill development within the team

• Collaborate across multiple disciplines to deliver fully coordinated structural design packages

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required

• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening (including marijuana)

• Valid Real ID–compliant driver’s license or state ID

• Strong facilities structural design experience (required)

• Experience with data centers, industrial plants, energy or nuclear facilities, hospitals, schools, or large commercial buildings

• Residential-only structural experience is not a fit

• Ability to independently execute complex structural designs

• Proficiency in TEKLA Structures for steel and reinforced concrete detailing

• Strong knowledge of ACI Detailing Manual (SP-66), steel construction detailing, and BIM practices

• Solid understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and construction methods

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency with standard office software

• Education and experience (one required): High School Diploma with 12 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years of relevant experience

• Experience supporting secure or highly regulated facility projects

• Familiarity with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and the Whole Building Design Guide

• Experience with USACE CAD standards

• Demonstrated long-term employment stability and project continuity

Pay

$118,000–$130,000 per year

Schedule

Full-time | 100% onsite | 9x80 work schedule (every other Friday off)
