Senior Civil Designer - Facilities / Infrastructure | Ogden, Utah

Nexeo HR has partnered with a leading engineering and construction organization to hire a Senior Civil Designer for a direct-hire opportunity supporting a major U.S. Air Force defense modernization program in Ogden, Utah. This role focuses on civil site and horizontal design for large, complex, mission-critical facilities, including secure infrastructure. The ideal candidate has experience designing industrial, government, energy, or large commercial facilities and is highly proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit. This is a 100% onsite position offering a 9x80 work schedule, paid overtime, long-term project stability, and relocation assistance for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support civil site and horizontal designs for large, complex, mission-critical facilities

• Prepare and review detailed civil drawings, studies, calculations, and 3D models in compliance with project requirements, codes, and standards

• Design grading, earthwork, drainage, paving, access roads, and site utilities for secure and regulated sites

• Utilize AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit to produce high-quality engineering deliverables

• Coordinate civil designs with structural, mechanical, electrical, architectural, and systems engineering teams

• Participate in design reviews, model reviews, and constructability reviews

• Interpret and apply federal, industry, and client standards (AASHTO, ASTM, FHWA, MUTCD, UFC, WBDG)

• Identify and resolve design conflicts across disciplines and construction phases

• Support quantity takeoffs and compare design quantities against project estimates

• Assist with planning, scheduling, and prioritization of civil design deliverables

• Review and coordinate technical documents with engineering, procurement, and construction teams

• Maintain accurate documentation, redlines, and revision control throughout the design lifecycle

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required due to federal facility access and security requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance

• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening (including marijuana)

• Valid Real ID–compliant driver’s license or state ID

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit

• Proven experience in civil site and horizontal design for large, complex facilities

• Strong working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (AASHTO, ASTM, ACI, FHWA, MUTCD, UFC, WBDG)

• Ability to independently execute detailed civil design deliverables of moderate to high complexity

• Strong coordination skills across multi-discipline engineering teams

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• High School Diploma or GED with 15 years of related civil design experience OR

• Associate Degree with 11 years of related experience OR

• Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years of related civil design experience

• Experience in utility civil engineering or outside plant (OSP) design

• Experience with horizontal directional drilling and jack-and-bore design

• Rail, telecommunications, or secure infrastructure project experience

• Experience integrating GIS with engineering design deliverables

• Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology

• Six Sigma Yellow Belt (or higher) or experience with process improvement programs

Pay

$100,000 – $145,000 annually

Shift/Schedule

Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

9x80 Schedule (Every Other Friday Off)
