POSITION SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Manager in our Ogden, Utah site is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant day-to-day operation of Balchems warehousing facilities. This role oversees inventory control, warehouse personnel, logistics coordination, and staffing to support operational and business needs. All duties are performed in accordance with established procedures and in compliance with Company safety policies, Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead, coach, and manage warehouse personnel, including shipping and receiving teams, to ensure accurate inventory control and efficient material flow.
- Schedule and deploy warehouse staff in a cost-effective manner, minimizing overtime while meeting operational demands.
- Oversee inventory accuracy and reconciliation across internal and external warehouse locations.
- Manage third-party warehouses and coordinate shuttle transportation between facilities.
- Develop and obtain proposals and quotations for warehouse-related needs and submit recommendations for management approval.
- Maintain all warehouse locations in a constant state of audit readiness.
- Collaborate with shipping, receiving, production, quality, and logistics teams to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency
- Ensure safe working conditions are established and maintained in compliance with Company and regulatory standards.
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures, including personnel management, safety, and equipment maintenance
- Develop proficiency in production processes and safety programs, including but not limited to accident and injury reporting, bloodborne pathogens, confined space entry, emergency evacuation, equipment operation and maintenance, hazard communication, ladder safety, lockout/tagout, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Associate degree required; Bachelors degree preferred, with concentration in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
- Five to seven years of related experience, preferably in warehouse management within a food, beverage, or regulated manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with warehouse inventory systems and MRP/ERP platforms preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of HACCP, SQF standards, FDA regulations, OSHA requirements.
- Strong organizational, time management, documentation, and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates strong work ethic, good judgment, clear communication, and effective teamwork.
- Demonstrates sound judgment, communicates clearly, and collaborates effectively to support employee training, safety compliance, and a positive work environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crawl using proper ergonomic principles.
- Regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds; periodically required to lift 50 pounds or more using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
- Operates equipment including computers, material handling equipment, and measurement devices.
- (Preferred) CDL license
- Required to always comply with Balchem Corporation personal protective equipment (PPE) policies while in plant areas.
- May be exposed to wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, elevated noise levels, vibration, extreme temperatures (non-weather), fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.
