Controller
Registered Investment Advisory firm located in Red Bank, New Jersey is seeking a Controller to join our team, to oversee our accounting operations and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. This role is critical in supporting financial decision-making, maintaining strong internal controls, and scaling financial processes as the business grows.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance and applicable regulatory and reporting requirements
- Manage the audit process and serve as primary liaison with external auditors
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls, accounting policies and procedures
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in partnership with firm leadership
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and working capital
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff
- Support strategic initiatives, system implementations, and process improvements
- Support and oversee all operational policies and procedures for employee benefits and continuing education requirements
Qualifications Helpful:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred
- Prior experience in a Controller or Assistant Controller role
- Detail-oriented with high degree of accuracy
- Proactive, eager to learn and willing to cooperate
- Exceptional professionalism and strong business etiquette
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop plans and follow through to a successful conclusion
