Director, Loan Accounting

Job purpose

With the assistance of a senior analyst, the Director, Loan Accounting, will oversee daily cash and reconciliation operations across loan servicing platforms. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of high-volume cash activity while maintaining strong internal controls and supporting operational scalability.

Duties and responsibilities

• Oversee daily reconciliations across approximately 700 bank accounts
• Manage cash activity related to payment clearing, custodial, and other cash management accounts
• Supervise and develop direct report(s), including performance management and coaching
• Review and approve reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with internal stakeholders
• Partner with servicing, treasury, and operations teams to support effective cash management
• Maintain and enhance internal controls over cash and loan accounting processes
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and mitigate risk
• Ensure adherence to company policies, investor requirements, and applicable regulations
• Prepare reporting and provide updates to leadership on reconciliation status and key issues

Qualifications

• BBA in Finance, Real Estate or Accounting preferred, MBA a plus
• 7 years of experience in commercial real estate (CRE) accounting, loan accounting, or loan servicing
• Demonstrated experience overseeing and reviewing high-volume reconciliations and cash operations
• Strong knowledge of commercial real estate finance including a general understanding of all types of loans, property types and real estate lenders
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
• Experience or familiarity with agency or institutional loan servicing a plus
• MBA CCMS Level I and/or II certification a plus
• Working knowledge of Enterprise! (or similar large scale servicing system)
