NewGen Administrative Services, LLC is a leading provider of long-term care services in California, Washington and Nevada and is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents and staff. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Payroll Director-NASP to join our team.
A New Acquisitions and Special Projects Payroll Director, a senior-level subject matter expert focused on applying payroll expertise to high-level strategic activities, such as system implementations, M&A integrations, compliance overhauls, and process automation related but not limited to the payroll function.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership & Management: Lead complex projects, including payroll system implementations (e.g., UKG, Workday, ADP, SAP), M&A due diligence, and integration efforts.
Strategic Optimization: Design, implement, and document payroll policies and procedures to increase efficiency and standardization across entities.
Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Ensure compliance with global, federal, state, and local tax laws; maintain internal controls; and manage external audits.
Process Improvement: Identify and remediate payroll process inefficiencies, leveraging technology to enhance automation.
System Configuration & Maintenance: Manage payroll table configurations, including earnings, deductions, and tax setups, and coordinate with HRIS/IT to automate time-tracking with data validation.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with HR, Finance, Legal, and Treasury to align payroll operations with business strategies and support company-wide initiatives
Reporting & Analytics: Develop and deliver global payroll metrics, KPI reporting, and ad-hoc analysis for senior management.
Required Skills and Experience:
Experience: Generally 8 years of payroll/related experience, with 2 years in a senior managerial or project-focused role.
Education: B.S. in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
Technical Skills: Deep expertise in enterprise payroll systems and advanced Excel skills for data analysis.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of multi-state/global tax regulations, FLSA requirements, and union payroll.
Soft Skills: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage stakeholders, and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
