As the Operations Manager, you will effectively manage the warehouse team on site and provide a level of service in line with customer requirements, at a level of cost agreed in the budget. To create and develop a professional culture on site, in line with our values and ensure that a positive attitude to Health & Safety is embedded within the team on site.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Interviews, hires, and oversees the training of new staff.
Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Implementing a cost-conscious culture, focused on achieving high levels of customer service.
Managing the team in line with company policy and ensuring agreed standards are met.
Working with customers on improvement initiatives to reduce cost and/or improve service.
Monitoring and reacting to KPI results and working with the Site Manager to identify and share improvement ideas.
Communication structure on site to include daily team briefs and shift handover.
Regular and agreed meeting agenda with shifts and local management team.
Communicate with relevant parties any deviation from process, quality issues, service issues, or risk of failure in these areas.
Complete agreed internal reporting and communication as required by Site Manager.
Train, coach, mentor, and develop direct reports in all areas of performance including metrics and behaviors.
Complete and assist with performance reviews and the interviewing process.
Communicate policy, SOP, & DWI updates through team meetings and one-on-one sessions.
Document coaching and development sessions.
Manage employee time cards, ensuring accurate clock-ins/outs, break tracking, PTO requests, and timely approvals.

Work with supervisor/manager to allocate resources to meet volume and performance standards including targeted metrics.
Inspire, support, and initiate cross-functional activities.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Working within budgeted guidelines and achieving agreed KPIs.
Complete local KPI templates and share information internally, engaging the local team to search for improvement opportunities.
Closely monitor and control all expenditure, especially payroll costs, and react quickly to adverse variances.
Regular checks on cleanliness and housekeeping to ensure compliance.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Inbound and outbound orders are received and dispatched in a timely manner in line with customer and company targets and KPIs of service and quality.
Utilize WMS and other operational software and systems to ensure a smooth & accurate workflow.
Manage quality, quantity, and scheduling issues on behalf of the customer. These issues may relate to service, inventory, and/or appointments.
Work closely with warehouse team to help maintain an efficient smooth workflow.
Efficiently work each position within the department, in order to train, coach, and cover each position when necessary.

Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must have working knowledge of interpersonal relationship skills, including de-escalation of stressful events.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to teach and mentor team members in effective resolution techniques.

Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Demonstrated leadership ability to include driving KPIs, employee engagement / team building. Strong ability to develop, coach, train, and mentor staff to success




Education and Experience:
5-7 years of experience in warehouse operations management.
Automated warehouse industry experience highly desirable (food or cold industry experience a plus)
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift minimum of 30lbs
Must be able to work in freezer environment as needed.

Safety Requirements: This position is considered a safety sensitive position.
