What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quartermaster position at New York Yacht Club?
New York Yacht Club-Harbour Court is seeking a highly motivated individual for our Quartermaster desk. The Quartermaster desk is the central hub of the club. This person will be trained to answer phone calls, book hotel rooms and moorings, answer questions about dining and events, sell clothing in our club store and more.
Front desk/reception experience is desired but not necessary. If you are a quick learner and have an eye for detail and love people, this might be the perfect job for you! Harbour Court has 28 hotel rooms and 3,000 members.
Daily Responsibilities include:
-performing night audit and ensuring all prior days billing is in order
-Ensuring all room reservations are resolved for the day
-Check out any guests by 11am and assist with any luggage
-Communicate with housekeeping on status of all rooms
-Answer phone calls and transfer appropriately
-Ensure all hotel registrations are printed and hotel keys are made
-Check in guests to their rooms at 3pm and assist with luggage
-Print registrations, guest cards and make room keys for the next day
-Communicate with overnight security any issues in the morning or evening
-Make hotel room, dining, special event, and mooring reservations
-Inform dining room of any last minute reservations
-Assist executive offices with any clerical work
-Update housekeeping throughout the day of any guest issues
-Walk the building throughout the day for cleanliness
-Assist other department of any needs
-Constantly educate yourself on the days/weeks events
