Job Title: Systems Engineer / Security Specialist (Only W2 or Selfcorp)

Job Description:

We are seeking a hybrid Systems Engineer / Security Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Microsoft Active Directory, Entra ID, and M365 platforms (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive) combined with proven experience managing daily security operations such as patch management, vulnerability management, and recurring security compliance tasks.

Responsibilities

Security Operations

• Act as primary security specialist across the company's sites/divisions.
• Manage patch management, vulnerability management, and asset management processes.
• Oversee security tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus, SIEM) and integrate them into daily operations.
• Conduct recurring security reviews, including access control assessments.
• Lead employee security awareness & training programs.

Systems Administration & Engineering

• Administer and support Microsoft M365, Exchange, and Windows Server platforms.
• Plan and execute migrations to M365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, etc.).
• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated M365 issues, including root cause analysis.
• Develop documentation for system architecture, changes, and procedures.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and IT staff.

Security Strategy, Governance & Compliance

• Work under CIO and vCISO to establish and report on security KPIs.
• Maintain security documentation (policies, procedures, standards).c
• Support security governance activities and leadership updates.
• Collaborate with IT teams across global sites to ensure consistent security controls.

Incident Response & Threat Management

• Lead containment, eradication, and recovery efforts during security incidents.
• Maintain and test the incident response plan.
• Perform post-incident analysis and implement improvements.
• Monitor and analyze threat intelligence feeds to proactively mitigate risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5 years of experience in system engineering and/or security operations.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft AD, Entra ID, Intune, and hybrid environments.
• Advanced experience with M365 administration (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and M365 management.
• Familiarity with security tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus, SIEM).
• Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, SSL/TLS).
• Security certifications preferred (CISSP, CISM, CEH, Microsoft 365, Azure Security).
• Excellent communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
