What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver Messenger position at New York State Unified Court System?
The New York State Unified Court System is seeking a Driver Messenger in the Nassau County Supreme Court. Driver-Messengers are responsible for operating motor vehicles and delivering court and other documents, and materials to courts, government agencies, and other buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining and servicing State‑owned motor vehicles.
- Picking up and delivering documents, mail, furniture and other heavy equipment.
- Assisting with distributing mall and messages within and between court buildings.
- Assisting with scanning, shredding, deliveries, stockroom maintenance.
- Other clerical assignments.
Qualifications: Successful completion of the eighth grade or the equivalent; and Possession of a valid drivers license in New York State to operate the type of motor vehicle in use; or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Candidates must have the ability to lift and carry objects that weigh up to fifty pounds, ability to stand and walk for lengthy periods and possess a valid NY State drivers license.
Base Salary: $46,269 $4,920 Location Pay
