What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hearing Officer position at New York State Unified Court System?
The New York State Unified Court System is seeking two (2) Court Attorney - Referees (Hearing Officers) in the Kings County Supreme Court - Civil Term. This position will be assigned to the Law Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting hearings to either hear and report or hear and determine.
- Taking testimony and reporting findings of facts to judge.
- Researching and analyzing complex legal questions and issues.
- Conferencing cases and resolving motions in foreclosure and discovery parts.
- Writing confidential memoranda and drafting opinions.
Qualifications: Admission to the New York State Bar and Three (3) years of service in the Associate Court Attorney title; or Eight (8) years of relevant legal experience gained after admission to the New York State Bar.
Base Salary: $130,061 $4,920 Location Pay
