Description

Full-Time, Exempt position 

$24.00 per hour; 35 hour per week


BASIC FUNCTION:

Lead the Fatherhood Initiative Program to help fathers build economic stability, self-awareness, and strong family relationships. Apply prevention strategies to educate and support fathers, increase community awareness about substance use, and develop prevention campaigns within organizations serving Connecticut fathers and families.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement the Fatherhood Initiative Program and associated substance use prevention strategies. 
  • Supervise and support Fatherhood Initiative staff to ensure program quality and effectiveness. 
  • Conduct outreach and recruitment to engage fathers, explain program activities, and enroll participants. 
  • Facilitate weekly workshops that strengthen fathers’ relationships with their families. 
  • Hold weekly case management meetings with participants to identify barriers and develop self-sufficiency goals. 
  • Track participant progress in the program database and provide regular updates to the Program Supervisor. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with local courts and support enforcement systems to streamline services for fathers. 
  • Represent the agency at community forums and events to promote program awareness and partnerships.
  • Develop and execute annual prevention plans, including training staff and educating fathers and families on opioids, stimulants, mental health, and Naloxone administration. 
  • Attend required trainings, meetings, and professional development opportunities. 
  • Coordinate prevention efforts within existing services, provide resources, and support staff and fathers in accessing treatment as needed.


Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field

Additional Direct Experience may substitute for degree


Experience:

2 to 4 years of social services and/or working with families to strengthen relationships and resolve conflicts


Job Skills:

Strong Written and Oral Communication skills    

Conflict Resolution/Mediation

Strong Computer Skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook,   

Knowledge of the social services available in the community


Licenses /Certifications:

CT Driver's License/Insurance/Own Transportation
