DOH and NMBHI are proud to offer a medically assisted withdrawal management program and a residential treatment program for Northern New Mexico! This program will provide medical and clinical assistance to address barriers and improve the overall quality of life for our clients that struggle with substance abuse and addiction. We will provide a safe and effective program that focuses on the client's needs in preparation for a successful discharge to a lower level of care. The residential team will consist of Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Patient Care Assistants (EMTs, Medical Assistants, CPSW preferred), and a Clinical Team of counselors.

Why does the job exist?
This Registered Nurse position will provide direct patient care during substance abuse withdrawal management. This position will work in close proximity to the Nurse Practitioner and the Patient Care Assistants to ensure all needs of the clients and program are met dally. The RN position helps keep the pace for the team and ensures the dally schedule is adhered to. The RN is the point of contact for the leadership team to address crisis, behaviors, emergencies, etc.

Withdrawal Assessments, Blood Glucose Testing, Breathalyzer Testing, Blood Draws, Treatment Plan Documentation, Discharge Plan Documentation, De-escalation, Quality Control Testing & Documentation, effective communication.

Through the vision of NM DOH and NMBHI, we will standardize our program alongside other state substance abuse programs in effort to open our doors to all New Mexicans that struggle with substance abuse.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate arrives for scheduled shifts on time. They would provide accurate information at shift change. They would provide quality patient care with supporting documentation. The candidate would have increased attention to detail in regard to handling and distributing controlled substances as per treatment guidelines. The candidate should be able to ask for help before it started to affect their workflow. The candidate should feel comfortable asking questions to clarify processes and or policies. especially in instances where consistent barriers are being met. The ideal candidate must have strong leadership abllitles to ensure the team meets daily objectives.
Minimum Qualification
Must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico, or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirements, or eligibility for a temporary license issued for employment at a specific institution in New Mexico, or a Graduate Nurse with a permit-to-practice.
Employment Requirements
Must possess a valid Drivers License
Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
