What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Assistant position at New Life Ministries?
Job Summary
This is a people-based job. As our Office Assistant, you will be the most public-facing person to those who call and visit New Life. In addition, in your role, you will come into contact with and assist many staff members regularly. This requires you to greet, care for, and serve those who contact the church with the genuine love and joy of Jesus.
Key Qualifications: Welcoming and empathetic personality, Willingness to be flexible, Takes initiative, Computer Literacy - especially Google Office Suite, Calendar Management, Ability to learn computer systems
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer phones, monitor doors, and greet visitors as they arrive.
- Recruit and coordinate office volunteers to assist in weekly duties and for position coverage in absence.
- Oversee data collection from weekend ministry, including, but not limited to, giving and attendance.
- Support Lead Pastor by scheduling appointments, making travel arrangements, and special projects, etc.
- Assist staff and ministries as needed.
- Manage ordering and tracking of ministry supplies.
- Receive and sort mail and distribute to appropriate staff as needed.
- Assist any staff with copying and printing needs.
- Assist staff with any churchwide communication and data entry.
- Ensure that any errors are communicated and remedied honestly, accurately, and with integrity.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding individual giving as well as church financial information. Any requests for information should be communicated with the Lead Pastor or Office and Business Manager.
- Perform all responsibilities with honesty, integrity, and a commitment to the mission of New Life Ministries and the Free Methodist Church.
- Other duties as assigned.

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
