            Job Summary:

The Director of Hospitality: Environments will cultivate a culture of intentional hospitality by creating warm, inviting, and well-prepared environments where every guest, congregant, volunteer, and staff member experiences authentic welcome and meaningful connection. This role will create spaces and experiences that foster friendship, community, and belonging, encouraging deeper engagement in the life of the church. The Director of Hospitality: Environments will also support the relational ministry of the Senior Pastor by welcoming and hosting guests, thoughtfully preparing gifts and expressions of care, creating meaningful opportunities for connection, and ensuring that each interaction reflects the heart and values of the Senior Pastor through intentional hospitality and excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive environmental hospitality strategy that cultivates a culture of welcome, friendship, and connection throughout New Life.
  • Establish clear practices and standards that ensure consistency of welcome, connection, and invitation across gatherings, events, and ministry environments.
  • Create and maintain welcoming environments that reflect intentionality, preparation, and care across events, ministry gatherings, and weekend services at New Life North.
  • Partner with ministry leaders and staff to provide support in the settings, systems, and standards of welcome and hospitality for church-wide events, programs, and special gatherings.
  • Recruit, train, equip, schedule, and encourage volunteers to serve effectively and represent the culture of hospitality in the church.
  • Collaborate with facilities and operations teams to ensure gathering spaces are prepared, functional, and reflective of the church’s commitment to hospitality.
  • Manage resources, supplies, and budget with thoughtful stewardship and attention to detail.
  • Evaluate hospitality practices regularly and implement improvements that strengthen the overall experience of guests, congregants, volunteers, and staff.
  • Coordinate hospitality elements for staff meetings, retreats, trainings, and internal gatherings connected to the Senior Pastor and church leadership as needed.
  • Support the relational ministry of the Senior Pastor by coordinating meaningful touchpoints, hosting guests, preparing thoughtful gifts, and creating opportunities for connection.
  • Serve as a welcoming presence on behalf of the Senior Pastor, helping ensure key relationships, guests, and ministry partners feel cared for and valued.
  • Manage and respond to calls and emails as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with supervisor about departmental issues.
  • Assist supervisor with special projects, events, and diverse tasks in support of the department.
  • Attend department meetings, regular all-staff meetings and other meetings as required.
  • Utilize a thorough understanding of New Life Church employee policies and procedures.
  • Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment.
  • Cooperate with leadership by performing any other duties when asked to do so.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion, integrity, and sound judgment.
  • Knowledge of administrative and office management practices, including scheduling, communication workflows, document organization, and basic office operations.
  • Understanding of professional communication standards, including email etiquette, interdepartmental communication, and confidentiality protocols.
  • Familiarity with church ministry environments, organizational structures, and seasonal rhythms.
  • Knowledge of event coordination fundamentals, including preparation, communication, hospitality support, and follow-up.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prepare materials, coordinate details, anticipate needs, and ensure consistent follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt quickly to changing needs, and remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify issues, analyze situations, and develop practical solutions with minimal supervision.
  • High level of professionalism, reliability, and personal accountability.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact tactfully and effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to represent pastoral leadership and the church with warmth, hospitality, and a ministry-minded attitude.
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative, team-based environment.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage interruptions while maintaining accuracy and focus.
  • Proficiency with common office and communication tools, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) or equivalent platforms.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete projects with limited guidance

            Education and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in administration, communications, or ministry support.
  • Experience:
    • 3 - 5 years of professional experience in executive-level support, administration, event planning, or related fields.
    • Experience in church, nonprofit, or ministry environments is highly preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to support senior leadership with a mix of administrative, operational, and relational responsibilities.
    • Experience managing calendars, meetings, correspondence, and communications for senior leaders.
    • Experience coordinating events, retreats, or staff gatherings, including preparation, follow-up, and hospitality considerations.
    • Proficiency with office software, communication platforms, and digital tools appropriate to the role.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to sit and occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Close visual acuity to is necessary to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
