            Job Summary:

The Vocal Worship Director is an essential role for the ministry of New Life East. The Vocal Worship Director’s role is to lead with excellence on weekends both musically and spiritually - including preparation, thought, and intention given to each weekend service and event. The Vocal Worship Director will oversee the volunteer musicians at NLE.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead worship 1 to 2 times a month at New Life East
• Attend Worship Department meetings as needed
• Partner with Worship Pastor on admin duties as needed - scheduling volunteers, resourcing Sunday worship services, recording and uploading vocal parts in Planning Center, team communication
• Oversee and direct vocals on Sundays when serving on the worship team
• Schedule and direct volunteers for children’s worship
• Manage and respond to calls and emails as needed.
• Assist the department in coordinating various tasks and procedures.
• Communicate regularly with supervisor about departmental issues.
• Assist supervisor with special projects, events, and diverse tasks in support of the department.
• Attend department meetings, regular all-staff meetings and other meetings as required.
• Utilize a thorough understanding of New Life Church employee policies and procedures.
• Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment.
• Cooperate with leadership by performing any other duties when asked to do so.

            Education and Experience:

Education:  Preferably a Bachelor’s Degree

Experience:  5–8 years of experience in a similar or related role

Physical Demands:

• Regularly required to sit and occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Close visual acuity to is necessary to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
