Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and document all medication activities using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Support residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease through specialized memory care techniques and behavior management strategies
- Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely to assist with transfers and prevent injury
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs and assist residents during meal times to promote independence and social interaction
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control standards in personal care homes or group home settings
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living, long-term care, or home & community care environments
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and memory care best practices
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized support
- Strong understanding of vital signs monitoring and medication administration procedures
- Experience with behavior management techniques tailored for seniors or residents with cognitive impairments
- Familiarity with EMR systems for accurate documentation of resident care activities
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record for transportation duties when required
- Excellent caregiving skills combined with compassionate communication and patience
