Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare professionals
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
- Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and assist residents during meal times to promote proper nutrition
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and sanitation practices in resident areas
- Support residents’ emotional well-being through engaging activities, social interaction, and companionship
- Follow detailed care plans tailored to each individual’s needs, including Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, hospice care, or autism support
- Document observations accurately in compliance with HIPAA standards and assist with patient monitoring during shifts
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s
to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance - Participate in ongoing training on CPR, first aid, patient observation techniques, and other relevant certifications to enhance caregiving skills
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings preferred
- Knowledge of patient care procedures including medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and assisting with ADLs
- Certifications such as CPR and first aid are highly desirable; willingness to obtain necessary certifications is required
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or memory-related conditions like Alzheimer’s or dementia is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members, residents, families, and healthcare providers
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve residents’ quality of life while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines
