Program Name: Journey To Recovery

Works with the following population: Male and female individuals with a mental health diagnosis and/or addictive diseases.

Days & Time: This position will work up to 40 hours a week. This program stays open 24/7, and shifts may work weekends and holidays.

Pay: $33,072 per year 

Job Duties:

The Client Support Worker is a vital member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, responsible for ensuring the safety, well-being, and daily structure of clients in semi-residential, or outpatient substance use disorder treatment. This role involves monitoring, providing support during crisis, conducting in-take procedures, and assisting with daily living activities while fostering a supportive and non-judgmental atmosphere for recovery.

Key Responsibilities

Management & Safety: Monitor client behavior and ensure safety in the facility by conducting regular, scheduled rounds, and ensuring compliance with facility policies and safety protocols. If covering an "Overnight," documentation of sleep, monitoring, and morning routines are critical.

Intake & Orientation: Assist with new admission procedures, including searching personal belongings, completing safety screenings, and orienting new clients to facility rules and expectations.

Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and objective documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, including shift logs, progress notes, and incident reports.

Crisis Intervention: Utilize de-escalation techniques and, when necessary, assist with emergency interventions (e.g., in cases of medical emergencies or overdoes) while adhering to professional boundaries.

Support & Supervision: Support clients in their daily activities, including monitoring meals, encouraging participation in group therapies/activities, and facilitating transportation to meetings or outside appointments.

Health Monitoring: Administer, as allowed by state regulations, basic health tasks like taking vital signs, monitoring protocols, providing over-the-counter medications, and conducting urine drug screenings.

Role Modeling: Serve as a positive, recovery-oriented role model, utilizing active listening and empathy to help clients navigate the early stages of recovery.

Minimum Requirements: 

High School Diploma/GED. Experience in mental health, social work, psychology, counseling, or related discipline is desirable. Must be CPR/First Aid certified. If the candidate is not currently certified, he/she will receive certification through the agency as a part of the training curriculum. Must have a valid driver's license, a clean MVR, and an insured vehicle, as transporting is a part of the job. Strong communication, active listening, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to stand/walk for extended periods. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to work varied shifts, including evenings, overnights, and weekends, as this is a 24/7 facility.

Preferred Requirements:

At least one (1) year of previous experience working in a behavioral health, drug rehabilitation, or psychiatric setting preferred.
