Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
- Administer medications, including injections, IV infusions, and tube feedings, following all safety protocols and documentation standards.
- Monitor vital signs, conduct physical examinations, and evaluate residents’ health status regularly.
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, mobility support, and dementia or Alzheimer's care.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation.
- Practice infection control procedures diligently, including sterile technique and specimen collection/processing.
- Respond promptly to urgent situations such as acute pain management or emergency triage, ensuring resident safety at all times.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living or long-term care facilities is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with medical office procedures, medical terminology, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and HIPAA regulations is beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia-related conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease.
