About the Role

The Vocational Electives Lead supports the daily operations, coordination, and delivery of New Freedom's Vocational Electives Program. This position serves as a lead resource to Vocational Electives Specialists by providing mentorship, training support, operational coordination, curriculum implementation, and workforce development guidance while maintaining direct member engagement responsibilities. The role helps ensure consistent, high-quality programming that prepares members for employment, recovery, independence, and long-term success.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Supporting daily Vocational Electives Program operations and service delivery
  • Facilitating vocational, workforce readiness, and employment-focused groups
  • Providing coaching, mentorship, and operational support to Vocational Electives Specialists
  • Assisting with curriculum implementation, scheduling, and program coordination
  • Supporting members in setting vocational, educational, employment, and recovery-focused goals
  • Promoting accountability, personal growth, workforce readiness, and successful community reintegration
  • Assisting with employer, community partner, and workforce development activities
  • Maintaining documentation, tracking outcomes, and supporting quality improvement initiatives

  • Program documentation, quality standards, and compliance expectations are consistently met

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Behavioral Health Paraprofessional (BHPP) designation required (Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) designation preferred)
  • Minimum one year of peer support, behavioral health, vocational services, workforce development, recovery services, or related experience (Two or more years preferred)
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to mentor peers, coordinate activities, and support program operations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic documentation systems
  • Previous lead worker, mentoring, coaching, training, or team coordination experience preferred
  • Experience facilitating groups, workforce readiness classes, training programs, or educational activities preferred
  • Experience working with justice-involved, recovery, reentry, or behavioral health populations preferred
  • Peer and Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) Certification preferred
  • Lived experience in recovery and willingness to appropriately utilize that experience to support members preferred

  • Frequent interaction with members, staff, vocational instructors, employers, and community partners
  • Regular facilitation of vocational development and workforce readiness programming
  • Occasional travel to employer locations, workforce development events, and community partner sites
  • Frequent use of computers, office equipment, and electronic documentation systems
  • Ability to support members through recovery, vocational, and workforce-related challenges while maintaining professionalism and appropriate boundaries
