We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT & Business Systems Intern to join our Information Technology team for the summer. This role provides hands-on experience supporting enterprise applications, improving data quality, and developing standardized business processes.
The intern will work closely with our Application Support Managers, Business Analysts, Production stakeholders, and various back-office stakeholders to assist with data hygiene initiatives, the creation of an IT knowledge base, and the development and implementation of consistent, scalable processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in IT, business systems, data, AI, and operational technology.
Essential Functions:
IT & Application Support
• Assist with data hygiene and data validation across enterprise systems to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability.
• Support the creation, organization, and maintenance of an IT knowledge base and AI query tool, including documentation of systems, processes, and common issues.
• Help standardize documentation and processes used by the IT application support team.
• Work directly with Business Analysts to analyze, document, and implement business processes across departments.
• Participate in process mapping, gap analysis, and documentation of current-state and future-state workflows.
Reporting & Interfaces
• Assist with the development of reports, dashboards, and data views to support internal teams and customers.
• Help design or improve interfaces and tools that enable customers and internal stakeholders to easily find and understand required data.
• Perform data analysis to identify trends, inconsistencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Collaborate with IT, operations, and other business units to understand workflows and system usage.
• Communicate findings, documentation, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications:
• Must be actively enrolled in degree program in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• Must have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Must possess strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while ensuring accurate work.
• Must exhibit the ability to analyze data, document processes, and work with multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently but as part of a team concept.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience with databases or reporting tools is preferred but not required.
Work Location and Schedule:
• This position is assigned to the NESL Corporate office located in New Enterprise, PA.
• Work will be performed in the office during normal business hours (8am – 4:30pm)
