Works closely with students regularly to provide instructional support in the Career and Technical Education Programs at New Castle Career Center
Works closely with students regularly to provide instructional support in the Career and Technical Education Programs at New Castle Career Center
- Supervise students being instructed.
- Extend instruction to students after the initial teacher presentation
- Work with small groups of students to reinforce instructional material
- Listen to students in recitation, reading, and other curriculum tasks
- Help students at the worksite with skills
- Substitute when needed
- Check students' work as directed
- Assist with pupil records
- Make and file copies
- Use and care of equipment and facilities
- Assist the instructor with IEP/504 accommodations
- Maintain positive public relations
- Establish positive relationships with students while encouraging professionalism, safety, and workplace skills.
- Assist students with college and post-high school plans. Maintain a database of students’ plans.
- Research job and internship opportunities for students post-high school and assist students with scheduling and completing applications, resumes, and interviews.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or principal
- Document test data for every student each semester
- Document PRIDE points in PowerSchool
- Notes of Concern
- Supervise students when the Instructor is not present. If the Instructor is in the lab, the Assistant is in the classroom
- Keep students on track
- Put daily, weekly, and monthly announcements on the board and in Google Classroom
