MSTS is seeking Continuous Monitoring Analyst II (IT Support Specialist II) to contribute to maintaining a robust security posture within our enterprise environment. In this role, you will execute continuous monitoring operations and play a key part in identifying and addressing security anomalies. This position is ideal for a cybersecurity professional with foundational experience looking to deepen their expertise and take on more responsibility in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4 , “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, required to participate in subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709 , “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.”

Key Responsibilities
- Execute continuous monitoring activities and compliance checks using various tools, including Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools, and other continuous monitoring platforms.
- Ensure accuracy of monitoring results and coordinate anomalous findings and system health issues with senior continuous monitoring team members and other IT groups.
- Track system and application baselines and implement configuration changes or security updates within prescribed timeframes to maintain a strong security posture.
- Review, maintain, and contribute to the improvement of continuous monitoring documentation, including methods and procedures for ongoing assessments and reporting.
- Coordinate with other IT members and management to execute continuous monitoring and security initiatives and directives.
- Collaborate with users to ensure continuous monitoring mechanisms are effective and verify the ongoing security of systems and applications.
- Assist in researching, compiling, and analyzing technical data related to security events and system behavior, contributing to threat intelligence.
- Support data calls, FISMA reporting, compliance monitoring, and generate reports for auditors.
- Contribute to a productive and respectful work environment by providing excellent customer service and fostering positive, collegial relationships with Cyber Security staff, other divisions, and customers.
- Perform other duties assigned by Management.
- Associates degree in MIS, Computer Science or equivalent with at least one year of related experience.
- Preferred candidates hold relevant cybersecurity certifications, successful completion of cybersecurity bootcamps, or demonstrated practical experience in IT support or network administration.
- Knowledge of continuous monitoring best practices, including security baselines, anomaly detection, and security configuration management.
- Knowledge of network and application security principles, such as the OWASP Application Security knowledge framework and the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
- Understands a broad range of Cyber Security principles, protocols, concepts, and theories.
- Knowledge of security controls, mitigation strategies, network architecture, and methods to maintain secure system configurations.
- Proficiency with Windows, Linux and macOS operating systems.

- The primary work location will be at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada.
- Work schedule will be 4/10's Monday through Thursday (subject to change).
- Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
