What are the responsibilities and job description for the FP&A position at NeuroSync?
Who we are:
NeuroSync is a pioneering neurotechnology company that delivers a cutting-edge digital health platform for objective brain health assessments and performance optimization. Trusted by leading medical centers, military, and sports organizations, our mission is to revolutionize brain health care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, maintain, and enhance advanced Excel-based financial models for forecasting, budgeting, scenario planning, and business planning.
- Develop and own KPI dashboards, Cash Burn analyses, revenue projections, and operational performance reports.
- Partner with leadership across departments (clinical, engineering, operations, sales) to gather inputs and translate them into dynamic financial plans.
- Prepare financial analyses that drive strategic decision-making, including pricing models, profitability analysis, cost optimization, and growth projections.
- Produce board-ready materials: financial summaries, charts, insights, and variance explanations.
- Lead the monthly forecast cycle and assist with annual budget planning.
- Support accounting with data needed for close, accruals, and reconciliations—but with the goal of FP&A being the strategic finance engine, not a controller/back-office role.
- Evaluate new business initiatives, partnerships, or product expansions through financial modeling and ROI analysis.
- Act as a cross-functional “financial athlete,” able to flex into problem-solving, modeling, analytics, or operational support depending on skillset.
- QuickBooks experience is a plus.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (Master’s preferred but not required).
- Exceptional Excel skills — complex formulas, pivot tables, scenario modeling, dynamic dashboards, VBA or automation a plus.
- Experience in FP&A, strategic finance, business analytics, or financial modeling.
- Ability to build models from scratch (not just maintain them).
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to distill complex data into clear insights and recommendations.
- Experience supporting leadership with financial strategy, forecasting, and planning.
- Comfortable working in a startup-like, fast-moving environment.
- Exposure to QuickBooks Online.
- A “mental athlete” who can flex between FP&A, business strategy, and operational insights.
