We are seeking a motivated and skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot low-voltage wiring and equipment, including CCTV cameras, fiber optic systems, Ethernet cabling, and structured cabling networks.
- Perform fiber splicing and termination to ensure optimal connectivity and performance in fiber-optic systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and wiring diagrams for accurate system installation and maintenance.
- Conduct telecommunications testing using specialized equipment such as Ohmmeters, diagnostic tools, and RF testers to identify issues and verify system integrity.
- Install and troubleshoot network infrastructure including Cisco routers, Juniper devices, LAN/WAN configurations, VoIP systems, and computer networking components.
- Perform equipment repairs, cable terminations (Cat5, Cat6), and network wiring to ensure reliable communication system operation.
- Provide field service support by diagnosing problems on-site, performing repairs or upgrades promptly while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Skills
- Proficiency in installing and troubleshooting CCTV surveillance systems and security infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of fiber optic splicing techniques and fiber optic system installation procedures.
- Knowledge of Ethernet cabling standards (Cat5e, Cat6), network installation practices, and structured cabling methodologies.
- Experience with telecommunication systems, including VoIP solutions like Avaya or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with Cisco routers, Juniper devices, LAN/WAN configurations, and radio frequency (RF) testing methods.
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical diagrams for electrical wiring and communication systems.
- Skilled in using diagnostic tools such as Ohmmeters, cable testers, power tools, hand tools, and telecommunication testing equipment.
- Understanding of AC/DC electrical systems as they relate to low-voltage applications.
- Competence in installing communication system components, including cable termination points, network wiring, and power supplies.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
