Job Summary
Network Integrated Services Inc. is hiring a Low Voltage / Fiber Optic Technician to install, test, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber optic and low-voltage systems. This position is ideal for someone with experience in telecommunications, structured cabling, or network infrastructure who enjoys hands-on technical work and problem-solving.
Technicians will work on a variety of commercial and telecommunications projects throughout the assigned service area. Travel to different job sites is required based on project needs.
Responsibilities
- Install fiber optic cabling, structured cabling, and low-voltage systems
- Perform fiber optic termination, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting
- Install and troubleshoot Cat5e/Cat6 network cabling
- Use testing equipment to verify cable performance and system functionality
- Read and interpret basic blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Install and support telecommunications and network equipment
- Complete cable labeling, organization, and documentation
- Follow project requirements and company safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Travel to job sites throughout the assigned service area as needed
- Provide professional communication with customers, team members, and project partners
Qualifications
- Previous experience in low-voltage, fiber optic, structured cabling, or telecommunications installation preferred
- Knowledge of network cabling and communication systems
- Fiber optic splicing and testing experience is a plus
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
- Ability to read basic diagrams and installation documents
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in indoor and outdoor environments
