Network Cabling Services (NCS) is seeking an experienced Audio Visual (AV) Lead Technician to lead field installations and ensure successful project delivery across commercial, industrial, and data center environments.
This role is responsible for overseeing job site activities, leading installation crews, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, leadership ability, and hands-on AV installation experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute Audio Visual system installations from start to finish
- Serve as Site Lead, managing daily job site operations and crew productivity
- Plan, assign, and coordinate work for technicians and subcontractors
- Install, terminate, and test AV systems including:
- Displays, projectors, and video walls
- Audio systems and DSPs
- Control systems and structured cabling
- Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and system schematics
- Produce and maintain as-built drawings, labeling, and project documentation
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies, PPE requirements, and industry standards
- Troubleshoot system issues and provide solutions in the field
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure alignment
- Conduct site walk-throughs, punch lists, and project closeout activities
- Operate company vehicles and maintain tools and equipment
Qualifications
- 3 years of Audio Visual or low-voltage installation experience
- Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred
- Strong knowledge of:
- AV systems (audio, video, control systems)
- Structured cabling and low-voltage infrastructure
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in commercial, industrial, or data center environments
- Manufacturer certifications (Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC, etc.)
- Familiarity with BICSI, NEC, and industry standards
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods
- Work in indoor and outdoor construction environments
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, or overtime as needed
