Title of Position: BILINGUAL PARENT LIAISON

SUMMER DISCOVERY ACADEMY

Work Year: July 6, 2026 - July 30, 2026

Monday - Thursday

7:30 am to 12:00 pm - Nettle Middle School

Trainings in June - Dates TBD

Effective Date of Employment: Immediately Upon Appointment

Salary: Your contractual hourly rate (if for any reason the candidate selected does not complete the appointment, compensation will be prorated based upon time served)

Organizational Relationship

Or Line of Authority: Director of Out-of-School Time Programming

In Collaboration with the Offices of Title I and Title III

Statement of Duties:

• Translate written documents as needed.
• Make/take phone calls to/from Spanish-speaking families as needed by school personnel.
• Interpret during a variety of school meetings, including: report card conferences, discipline, special education IEP meetings, new student/family orientation meetings, speech and language evaluations, among others.
• Develop and maintain constructive and trusting relationships with families and staff.
• Represent the school professionally and courteously.
• Regularly utilize the district Google scheduling calendar for all meetings, appointments, etc.
• Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate parent/school needs with regard to attending meetings.

Qualifications:

• Possess an Associate’s Degree or higher – preferred.
• Must be bilingual (English/Spanish) – required.
• Must have excellent verbal and written processing skills.
• Competent English and Spanish literacy skills.
• Must have strong written skills in another language.
• Must have good organization and time management skills.
• Must have skills necessary to engage and work with others from diverse ethnic and cultural groups.
• Must be able to relate positively with others, as evidenced by evaluations and/or references.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
