Warehouse Inventory Control Coordinator
Position Overview
The Warehouse Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and availability of inventory across the distribution operation. This role supports the efficient flow of products by maintaining detailed records, performing audits, identifying discrepancies, and executing corrective actions to uphold quality standards and minimize shrink.
Warehouse associates are the backbone of our company’s success; therefore, this position requires a high degree of accountability, attention to detail, and independent work ethic.
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct routine and scheduled physical counts of materials, equipment, merchandise, and supplies.
- Record, verify, and reconcile inventory totals against system reports and office records.
- Investigate discrepancies between physical counts and system records; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Compile and track receipts, transfers, and disbursements of inventory items.
- Monitor inventory rotations to ensure FIFO compliance and make recommendations to prevent spoilage and loss.
- Prepare reports related to inventory balances, weekly cycle counts, shrink, and production breakdowns.
- Review, audit, and investigate daily inventory-related reports.
- Maintain shrink at or below company standards through timely reporting and proactive controls.
- Identify depleted, damaged, defective, or unusable inventory; recommend corrective action and disposition.
- Report short-dated inventory promptly to support effective sales strategies and reduce waste/write-offs.
- Maintain quality control standards to ensure all inventory is suitable for sale.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 6 months of inventory control and/or warehouse experience in a related environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Consistent and reliable work history.
- Ability to work assigned schedule and overtime as required.
- Ability and willingness to operate forklift and hi-lo equipment (training/certification support available).
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, lift, and perform manual tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, pull, and stack items weighing 10–35 lbs regularly, and up to 60–90 lbs depending on location.
- Ability to work in multi-temperature environments (dry, cooler, and freezer).
Preferred Qualifications
- PMHE operation experience.
- Minimum 1 year of inventory control experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Stand-up reach truck experience.
- Strong and consistent work history.
