Technical Associate - Research & Development
Location:
Wilmington, DE (Onsite)
Duration:
12 Month Contract (Annual Renewal)
Pay:
Up to $30-32.50/hr on W2
Schedule:
- 40 hours/week
- Monday-Friday
- 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Responsibilities
- Prepare samples, reagents, and standards following established procedures.
- Perform X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray tomography (XRT), and electron microscopy data acquisition and assess basic data quality.
- Conduct ultramicrotomy to prepare sample cross-sections for analysis.
- Perform routine instrument operation and maintenance.
- Dispose of laboratory waste according to established procedures.
- Perform routine Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) refills following established procedures.
- Safely handle cryogenic materials and systems.
- Support Research & Development (R&D), Technical Service & Development (TS&D), and Manufacturing teams.
- Work under the guidance of experienced scientists in a laboratory environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent knowledge acquired through on-the-job training.
- Experience working in a chemical laboratory.
- Strong sample preparation and safe chemical handling skills.
- Experience operating laboratory equipment.
- Commitment to laboratory safety procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing competing priorities.
