Job Description: NExT Supplier Notes
General Information:
Location and/or time zone: PHK
Reason for opening: FTE Leave Coverage
Expected contract length: 3 months from start date
Team details & who they will work with: Signature athlete models - footwear, JRD Design CMCS, Basketball Footwear Materials Design, Global Jordan

Desired Candidate Profile:
Minimum required years of experience: 5 YOE in footwear materials design. HM is also open to materials experience in automotive, consumer electronics, or textiles for performance apparel
Education requirements: Bachelors or equivalent experience
Must have skills:
Able to be confident in decision making for materials and their performance ability, strong process for ideation, can explain how they can make decisions, pushes for innovation
Experience with Textile and decorative materials, synthetics, polyurethanes, or TPUs (plastic part of the shoe sole)
Nice to have skills:
Understands manufacturing impacts on design choices, knows what materials manufacture well, is comfortable sending communications to manufacturing, knows how footwear is produced, can design within a cost restraint and structure
Understands trends, sees trends and can translate them into a nuanced version, makes trends and inspiration their own
Enjoys a fast paced environment, high level communication, can take criticism well, actively seeks out information and peers, can work well with external teams, highly collaborative
Portfolio:
Storytelling,layout is easy to understand, clear beginnings and ends of the project and their impact
Has examples of collaborative projects and is able to explain what they had an impact on, can confidently speak to their work “because of this... I did this...”
Previous Nike/industry experience preference: Yes, can hit the ground running
