Our client is a well known and respected company in the Livonia, MI area. They are growing and due to that growth they are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Analyst with strong accounting skills to join their team. This role plays a critical part in their job cost tracking, change order management, and project financial reporting processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial construction, understand project-based accounting, and be able to collaborate across departments to support financial transparency and operational efficiency.

- Prepare and analyze weekly job cost and direct cost reports to support project managers in understanding real-time job performance.
- Coordinate and maintain prequalification documentation for vendors and subcontractors.
- Assist with union and insurance audit preparation, ensuring timely and accurate reporting for compliance.
- Assist in preparation of year-end review work papers, supporting the accounting team and external reviewers with accurate and organized documentation.
- Manage change order tracking, including running and reviewing pending change order reports to support billing accuracy.
- Perform monthly spend reviews and communicate findings with leadership.
- Monitor and verify that tax-exempt jobs are coded correctly, and ensure no tax is applied where exempt status applies.
- Perform deep-dive analysis on job costs to identify anomalies or overruns and recommend corrective actions.
- Respond to ad hoc requests for custom financial reports and reconciliation summaries as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in a financial analyst or accounting role, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of job cost reporting and construction billing workflows.
- Proficient in Excel and familiar with accounting software such as Sage, Procore, or similar ERP systems.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of tax exemption rules in construction settings.
- Prior experience working across both field and office teams to gather, clarify, and validate financial data.
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
