Electrical Estimator – Industrial Projects
Office based in Rochester, NY (Local Travel)
Full-Time Direct Hire
$35–$50/hr DOE
We’re partnering with a growing industrial services organization to hire an Electrical Estimator to support complex construction and equipment installation projects.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong electrical field background who understands how work actually gets done and can turn drawings into real-world cost, labor, and execution plans.
What you’ll do:
• Develop detailed electrical estimates (labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors)
• Review drawings, schematics, and P&IDs to build accurate takeoffs
• Perform site visits and walkthroughs to validate scope and conditions
• Work closely with construction managers, engineers, and field electricians
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers on pricing and materials
• Support project planning, scheduling, and cost tracking
• Ensure estimates reflect real-world installation methods and field constraints
• Apply NEC, NFPA 70, and OSHA standards in all estimates
• Identify cost savings and improve estimating accuracy over time
Qualifications:
• 7 years of electrical construction or field experience
• 3 years of electrical estimating experience
• Strong knowledge of power distribution and control/instrumentation wiring
• Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, and OSHA standards
• Experience with estimating tools and Microsoft Office
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
Nice to have:
• Experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks
• Background in industrial environments (manufacturing, energy, chemical, pharma)
