This position combines hands-on process optimization with strategic problem-solving, offering an opportunity to make a measurable impact on safety, productivity, and quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Process Optimization:

  • Facilitate and lead continuous improvement (CI) projects across departments using Lean, Kaizen, 5S, and other methodologies.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve process flow, and enhance operational efficiency.

Standardization & Documentation:

  • Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Conduct internal audits, track nonconformities, and implement corrective actions.

Training & Coaching:

  • Support employee development through CI training and hands-on instruction.
  • Coach teams on problem-solving, process mapping, and data-driven decision-making.

Performance Measurement:

  • Collect and analyze performance metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to validate sustainability and long-term results.

Collaboration & Leadership:

  • Work closely with production, quality, and management teams to align improvement projects with business goals.
  • Support safety and quality initiatives by integrating CI practices into daily operations.

Supervisory Support:

  • May oversee or provide direction to a small team of exempt employees.
  • Participate in workforce planning, performance feedback, and departmental coordination.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Proven experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, or other CI tools and methodologies
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multiple levels of an organization
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, data analysis, and reporting tools
