Staff Accountant (Part-Time - 20 hrs. per week)Contract - 3 monthsSan Rafael, CAYou are​a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support accounting and payroll functions during an employee leave. This role performs professional accounting duties including maintaining and analyzing accounting records, preparing schedules and reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and CVNL policies and procedures.This position pays: $34.00 to $37.00 per hourWhat you will be doing:Maintain and update accounting records and filesPrepare and post journal entries; reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accountsReconcile bank statements and assist with month-end close activitiesAnalyze transactions in collaboration with department headsMonitor monthly accrual-based journal entries and budget vs. actualsApply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policiesAssist the CFO with payroll tasks, including timesheet review and validationRecord payroll activity in the general ledger and maintain strict confidentialitySupport 403(b) matching and related annual compliance testingHelp implement or streamline payroll processing proceduresEnsure timely payroll processing and respond to staff payroll inquiriesWhat you bring:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience)Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end processesWorking knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practicesPayroll processing experience and strong attention to confidentialityProficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel)Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to manage deadlines and work independently in a part-time, temporary roleTo learn more about the workplace culture and the position, please apply!For over 50 years, Nelson Connects has empowered employers and job seekers to achieve their unique versions of success.
