I’m excited to partner with a mission-driven, highly respected organization to find a Financial Planning & Accounting Manager who will play a key role in supporting a collaborative and close-knit finance team.

This is a unique opportunity to join an organization deeply focused on their mission, innovation, and community, where finance is truly a strategic partner across the organization. You’ll work closely with an established leadership team, including the Controller, while also interfacing cross-functionally with multiple departments.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Own core accounting functions including reconciliations, debits/credits, and financial accuracy

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

• Partner cross-functionally with departments

• Audit processes and reporting

• Contribute to systems improvements / upcoming implementation

• Help manage and track multi-source funding / financial activity

• Serve as a trusted, communicative partner across the organization

• Partner closely with program leaders and faculty, translating financial insights into clear, practical guidance for initiatives like student programs, trips, and new offerings

• Act as a go-to resource across departments supporting colleagues with budgeting, purchasing, and financial questions in a collaborative, service-oriented way

• Work alongside Development to ensure gifts and endowment funds are accurately tracked and aligned with donor intent, supporting transparency and stewardship

• Contribute to a highly interactive environment

• Play a visible, trusted role in a close-knit community

What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 8–10 years of experience (ideally within nonprofit and/or education)

• Strong foundation in accounting

• Experience with fund accounting or multi-entity environments preferred

• Exposure to audits and financial systems

• Detail-oriented with the ability to see the big picture

• Collaborative, approachable, and strong communicator

• Someone who enjoys being a team player and cross-functional partner

This role reports to the Controller and has no direct reports but offers high visibility and impact across the organization.
